Jointly is the tool you need to get the results you want from cannabis and CBD.

Cannabis has been an important wellness tool for humans for at least five thousand years, so it should come as no surprise that purposeful cannabis and CBD consumption can contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

Cannabis for Wellness

According to the World Health Organization, wellness is “the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” Wellness is an active process: you learn how your lifestyle choices can impact your health and longevity, and then you use that knowledge to make decisions that improve your well-being. Jointly is a new smartphone app that helps consumers discover purposeful cannabis consumption to live better, naturally. Jointly users learn to enjoy their ideal cannabis experience every time by tracking the 15 factors that can impact their results. With Jointly, health-conscious cannabis users can track their CBD and cannabis consumption, learn about new routines and products, and make changes to how they consume cannabis in order to achieve their personal wellness goals and eliminate side effects. We assessed all of the ways in which people turn to cannabis to improve their well-being, and distilled them down into eleven holistic wellness goals:
  1. Relaxation
  2. Anxiety Reduction
  3. Stress Relief
  4. Sleep Improvement
  5. Physical Recovery
  6. Pain Management
  7. Social Enjoyment
  8. Focus and Creativity
  9. Mental Escape
  10. Replacing Alcohol
  11. Intimacy Enhancement

Jointly users who have created at least 10 reports are improving their results by an average of 38%.

How is cannabis such a versatile wellness tool?

After a long day at work, many people have a drink to relax and unwind, but that habit is not without risks. Increasingly, studies show that even moderate drinking can be associated with worse health outcomes. In July of 2020, the U.S Dietary Guidelines for Americans reduced the maximum recommended servings of alcohol from two units per day to one unit per day for men. This change was the first in 30 years. The ever-growing interest in wellness may shift our culture towards more health-conscious ways of unwinding. People are beginning to switch their after-work glass of wine for a dose of cannabis or CBD. Marijuana products can produce similar effects as alcohol, but with less severe health effects and less risk of physical and psychological dependence. But what really separates cannabis from other legal recreational drugs like alcohol is that the plant contains “over 400 chemical entities of which more than 60 of them are cannabinoid compounds, some of them with opposing effects.” Some of these compounds are active and others are “inactive” metabolites and related molecules. THC and CBD are the most well-known cannabinoids, but you will also see CBN, CBG, THCa, CBC and others listed on cannabis products. Terpenes, aromatic compounds responsible for the scent of citrus fruit, lavender, and hops, are also found in marijuana in varying degrees. All these compounds work together in tandem to create an additive effect called the “entourage effect,” such that “one molecule is unlikely to match the therapeutic potential of cannabis itself as a phytochemical factory.” The specific ratios of these cannabinoids and terpenes vary widely between strains, brands and product types, and different combinations can produce different therapeutic effects. Manufacturers often design cannabis and CBD products with certain purposes in mind, like aiding sleep or relieving anxiety. They try to create products with specific cannabinoid and terpene profiles that they hope will achieve these goals. But due to federal prohibition, there aren’t many scientifically rigorous studies about the effects of different cannabinoids and terpenes, so we don’t truly understand which cannabinoids and terpenes produce which effect. How do you know if that edible advertised as a sleep aid actually helps people sleep?

Find Marijuana and CBD Products that Work

Jointly allows users to look up legal, licensed cannabis and CBD products in their state. Whether you are a recreational marijuana user or a medical marijuana card carrier, we make it easy to begin incorporating cannabis into your personal health journey. You can see how other users like you rated the product on a scale from 1-10, based on how well that product helped them achieve their wellness goals. Given the dizzying array of products you have to choose from, the product-rating tool will become increasingly useful as more community members contribute ratings. Let’s say you use Jointly to find a delicious Indica gummy that people rate highly for improving sleep. You try it and find that sometimes it works perfectly and soothes you into a gentle slumber, but other times it makes you anxious and prevents you from sleeping. As you report your cannabis experiences, you see that when you eat the gummy on a full stomach, it has the desired effect, but if you eat it on an empty stomach, you feel anxious. Jointly will suggest adjusting your routine based on this data, so that you can eliminate the anxiety and achieve restful sleep every time. The more often you record your cannabis experiences on Jointly, the more precise and personalized your in-app suggestions become. Cannabis can be a highly effective wellness tool when it is consumed purposefully. But what does it mean to consume cannabis purposefully? At Jointly, it means that we use cannabis and CBD to improve our wellbeing, track the factors that can impact our experience, and adjust our routines and product choices based on that data in order to optimize our experience, eliminate side effects, and get the result we want every time.
